Where can my son/daughter find the latest correct information about the studies?

You can find general updates on our website. These apply to the entire university. The most recent information about the study programme itself is provided via the student's and Canvas' school email.
Your student can also always contact the head of study for questions.

I notice that my son/daughter is struggling emotionally. Where can he or she go?

Do you notice that your student is less cheerful, finds it difficult to get out of bed or experiences a lot of stress? Encourage your student to contact the tutor. In addition, your student can always contact counsellors via chat or telephone:
-    Teleblock (NL): chat every evening between 18h and 23h.
-    Télé-accueil (FR): call 107
-    JAC: chat between 11h and 20h ()
-    CAW: chat between 13h and 19h ()
-    Awel (NL): chat between 18h and 22h or call 102 from 16h or call 102.
-    Telephone reception (NL): available 24 hours a day on the number 106 or chat between 18h and 23h.
-    Ecoute - enfants (FR), call 103.

My son/daughter is ill, how should I proceed?

For a few days of illness, the same appointment still applies as usual: your student will upload his/her doctor's certificate to Bamaflex.
Is your student long-term sick? Then contact the head of training or the tutor.

My son/daughter has to process study material independently now? What does this mean?

Your student will alternate online 'live' lessons with independent processing of the subject matter. The tutors will do their utmost to provide as many processing exercises and assignments as possible, as well as to be available digitally for questions. Your student will therefore have to spend the hours he or she normally spends on school desks behind a laptop.

The communication with your student is done via the school mail. Viewing this daily is therefore the message!

How can I help my son/daughter?

Does your student not always have a laptop available, or a good network connection? Go to this page for more information.
Bring structure in the weekdays. Agree when your student works for school and is not available for extra help in family life. Whenever possible, try to provide a quiet space for your student at those times.
Other tips can always be found here.
