Bio

Tina(Tiko) Tsomaia, is a Professor at the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management (CSJMM) of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA). 

She has earned BA and MA in Medicine and MA in Journalism and Media Management. 

She teaches reporting and writing, advanced reporting and writing, gender reporting, health reporting, diversity reporting,  media literacy classes. 

Tiko is recipient of a Global Faculty Grant of the Open Society Scholarships Program  through which she has spent a year  at New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute as a post-graduate research fellow.  

Currently she is a PhD student in Mass Communications at GIPA. 

Tiko is a MC member from Georgia of the Cost Action –Femicide Across the Europe- first pan-European coalition on femicide;   Her research topics are:  pre-natal sex selection, trauma and addiction, ethical decision making and health communication;
