Bio

Assistant Professor (tenured) at the University of the Balearic Islands. Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism. BSc. Civil Engineering. MSc. in Industrial Organization.PhD. in Business Administration and Quantitative Methods.

She worked for Grupo Vitro for seven years as Technical Consultant and Innovation Projects Junior Manager where one of her main achievements was the setup, and coordination of the Group's Innovation Projects Portfolio. Rebeca has also served as Vice Head of the Fernando de los Ríos Student Housing at UC3M. Her teaching experience ranges from Strategic Management to Financial Analysis, both at Bachelor and Master levels. Besides, she has been PI at two projects on Innovation in Teaching.

As a researcher, her main interests are social networks, innovation, organizational behavior, applied to Tourism Sector and to the open source software and the biopharmaceutical industries. She visited Rotman School of Management (Canada, 2006) as Ph.D. student; Yale School of Management (USA, 2012) as Post-Doc, and the Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand, 2017). Her current research spans networks in the pharmaceutical industry, the management of clinical trials; networks in tourism intermediation, and innovation in the hotel industry.

 

Title of lecture

Introduction of sustainable new products in the leisure industry. English.

This is a hands-on workshop where the students will question the status quo of the leisure and accommodation industry in terms of sustainability to generate new product ideas for improving the performance of the firm, both economically and ethically responsible.
