Bio
I am professor of journalism at HdM Stuttgart Media University since 2008. I’m heading HdM’s digital journalism and PR programme since 2012. My major fields of research are innovation research, newsroom management, disinformation and quality in journalism. Before I was hired at HdM I was head of research & development at a newspaper publishing company, senior advisor at a consultancy company and scientific assistant at the University of Dortmund. I hold a diploma and a PhD in journalism. Currently I’m also serving as president of the German Communication Association (DGPuK).
As university teacher I am committed to provide with international experiences, both at home and abroad. Because of this we embedded an international minor programme taught in English as a compulsory part of our BA programme. Additionally we put our emphasis on fostering and maintaining our network of partner schools by running bi- and multilateral projects. I am experienced in Erasmus+ partnerships as partner and coordinator, and involved in international research projects, currently with our partners from Tongmyong University, Busan, Republic of Korea.
