Artesis Plantijn University of Applied Sciences & Arts & Erasmus Brussels University of Applied Sciences & Arts are very pleased to invite you as a speaker to their 13th edition of International Communication Days, from Monday 2 December till Friday 6 December 2019.

It’s a unique international week combining two university colleges, two marvellous cities and two bachelor programmes, Communication Management & Journalism, in yet ONE international programme! The last days of this year’s edition will be hedged in a larger international week at the Erasmus Brussels University of Applied Sciences & Arts (Erasmushogeschool) in Brussels, which offers you the opportunity to also meet speakers from other study fields.

Theme: The Most Sustainable Resource - Higher Education as Catalyst of Sustainability

We are in particular looking forward to welcoming speakers from our partner institutions who are interested in giving creative lectures, workshops and seminars on topics related  to ‘Sustainability’ which will enrich the dialogue and enhance the intercultural competences of our students and staff. As a source of inspiration we would like to refer to the Sustainable Development Goals as formulated by the United Nations, which call upon HEIs to contribute to its implementation. https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/
Please feel free to make suggestions: any recent trend or innovative topic that could be interesting for our students in Communication and Journalism illustrated with recent cases that might come from your own country.
From previous editions we know that students prefer interactive sessions over classic lectures.

What will your audience be like?

Your audience will be 2nd and 3rd year Bachelor students in Communication Management and Journalism, as well as an international group of Erasmus+ exchange students.

Idea Kitchen

In the tradition of the previous editions we organize an ‘Idea Kitchen’ for all participants. This year there will be even two sessions during which you will be able to share good practices and gain insights from other participants:

  • Monday 2 December – in Antwerp- the topic is: short international mobilities in the curriculum (participants are guest lecturers from Communication & Journalism)
  • Wednesday 4 December – in Brussels- you will be sharing  best practices in dealing with Sustainability within Higher Education Institutions (in interdisciplinary groups of lecturers)

Work and fun!

During this staff exchange you will be active during at least 8 hours (as required by Erasmus+ staff exchange policies). You can give the same lecture two or more times since you will be teaching to students in both Antwerp & Brussels.
Of course we will also do some engaging and cultural activities together and, don’t worry, we will also take time to drink and dine together.

We are looking forward to meeting you in December.

Kindly fill in the form by October 20, 2019
