Organisation Academic Year
First Semester: from October till January
Second Semester: from February till June

Work placement depending on programmes or agreements other than Socrates / Erasmus
Deadlines for applications (programme and housing): at least 3 month before the start of the work placement if you don't need any visa; 5 months before starting the placement or project if a visa is needed.

European Intensive Language Course
Is only open for Erasmus exchange students. Applications should be sent by May the 30th.

Application procedure
Registration and application through Mobility-Online (see “Application forms”).

Incoming students 1st semester and complete academic year : Mobility-Online is open from 15th of February till the 1st of June.
Incoming students 2nd semester : Mobility-Online is open from the 1st of October till 15th of November.

Application Form and Learning Agreement (Erasmus format) - to be used also by non Erasmus exchange students
Necessary in order to be accepted as a regular incoming student.

Learning Agreement
A temporary Learning Agreement is necessary in order to be accepted as an exchange student. The Learning Agreement will include a detailed curriculum vitae.
This agreement may be replaced by a desideratum in the case of work placement or personal project.
The learning agreement / desideratum has to be sent with the application form.

Contract (Erasmus and others)
In all cases an agreement is signed in the framework of a European programme, between the student and the sending institution, a copy of this agreement should be sent to the International Co-ordinator mentioning the grant.

As for non Erasmus mobility: a signed cooperation agreement with the sending university is compulsory. 

Living costs
Incoming students should be aware they need at least € 550 per month for living in Brussels.

Insurances
Health insurance: Student should take a health insurance in his/her country before departure. If not possible please contact Johan De Sterke as soon as possible and he will try to take care of your health insurance.

Liability,Visa and registration
D Visa: students are required to go to the aliens registration office of the district (commune) where they will stay within the week of arrival, with 1 passport photo, a prove of enrolment at EhB, the passport with visa (and copy), a prove of civil status, a birth certificate.
C Visa: students are required to go to the aliens registration office of the district (commune) where they will stay within the week of arrival, with a copy of passport and visa, 4 passport photo's.
Also European students (who don't need any visa) are requested to register.
